Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Instructional Assistant at DORS Central to support students with assignments, monitor groups for a safe learning environment, and maintain progress records.

In addition to a sign-on bonus and health care options, the role requires two years of college or equivalent, strong oral and written communication, teamwork, and tech competency; bilingual preferred. Applicants will undergo a national background check and alignment with CHS mission.

Qualifications

• Two years of college with some training/exposure to education OR network equivalent.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• Bilingual preferred
• An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Days of Service: 202 Days

Job Tasks:

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
