Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Instructional Assistant at DORS Central to support adult learners earning their Indiana Core 40 diploma. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of college with some training/exposure to education or network equivalent.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology.
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• Bilingual preferred.
• An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide 're-teaching' and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Job Tasks:

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
