Instructional Aide (TEMP) - Fall 2026 SI 512

Instructional Aide (Eligibility: Undergraduate Students, Non-Students)

  • Managing the Canvas site
  • Prepare, administer, and grade subjective and objective assignments
  • May interact with students regarding course content or grades
Required Qualifications*
  • Undergraduate in good academic standing with knowledge of the subject matter.OR

Non-UM Student with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technology

  • 1+ years of experience in an administrative or program support role, especially in higher education.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular business hours to support events.
  • Must have a basic understanding of web accessibility guidelines.
Course Description

REDP provides an introduction to academic research that develops core research skills, provides structured mentoring, and connects students to a vibrant community of scholars. Participants engage in academic and social activities that promote professional growth and foster connections. This course is well-suited for students interested in exploring academic research or research-intensive careers, considering the MTOP track, and/or thinking about pursuing a doctoral degree.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

School of Information, Leinweber Building, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor - This is an in-person position with an occasional need or flexibility for remote work. Hybrid work is possible and follows the UMSI Remote Work Policy, with supervisor approval. Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change depending on our needs.
