RESEARCH ASST II (TEMP) - Computer Science

Project Title: Integrating Computing and AI Across Disciplines


Project Overview
The Integrating Computing and AI Across Disciplines project advances research and practice around embedding computing and AI concepts into non-computing disciplinary courses in ways that authentically support disciplinary learning goals. The project builds on recent scholarly work in computing education and interdisciplinary curriculum design, including the development and evaluation of lightweight, discipline-aligned modules ("ounces of computing") that can be integrated into existing courses.


Duration: Sep 1, 2026 - Apr 30, 2027

Responsibilities*

The Research Assistant will work closely with the project team led by the Principal Investigator (PI) and participate and assist in the project activities. Including developing educational modules integrating computing and/or AI into appropriate discipline courses for possible adoption.

Required Qualifications*

(a) Master's degree in Computing, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Science, or a closely related field
(b) Strong written and verbal communication skills
(c) Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment

Modes of Work

Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
