Job summary

Paradise Honors Elementary School in Paradise, AZ is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide to support classroom teachers with students needing extra help in math, reading, and writing, under supervision to implement lesson plans and accommodations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or 60 college hours are preferred; strong written and oral communication; and proven ability to maintain accurate records and collaborate with staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Paradise Schools may find acceptable

Responsibilities

• Relate well to children and adults.
• Demonstrate good written and oral language skills.
• Understand and provide support to students in math and reading.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records; computer experience preferred.
• Participate in planning activities/work for individual students.
• Assist the teacher with activities for individual students and small groups.
• Follow a lesson plan or guide developed by the teacher.
• Prepare day’s lessons by assembling materials for the daily plan.
• Consult with the teacher about students’ needs, progress and questions.
• Assist in evaluating student progress.
• Display a professional and flexible attitude with students and staff.
• Assist with duties such as recess, crossing guard, etc., as assigned by administration/teacher.
• Perform other tasks as Paradise Schools may assign
