Job summary

San Angelo ISD - McGill Elementary in San Angelo, Texas is seeking an Aide - Instructional for the 2026-27 school year. This non-exempt role reports to the Principal and supports teachers with instruction, materials, and classroom management.

Qualifications include an associate degree or 48 college hours, or equivalent assessment, and a valid Texas educational aide certificate. Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college hours; or meet formal academic assessment.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Ability to assist with classroom instruction.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Effective verbal/written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students as assigned by the teacher and work with individuals and small groups.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays, administer and score assignments and assessments, maintain records.
• Assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers as needed.
• Assist in conducting parent involvement activities.
• Supervise students throughout the day and support classroom management.
