Responsibilities

GENERAL DUTIES

Position will provide individualized support to a specific student/students to ensure their safety, facilitate their learning, and promote social-emotional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Associate's degree or a minimum of 72 college credits (preferred)
  • Experience working with children
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based background check

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Model respectful behavior and promote a positive learning environment
  • Complete all required annual trainings by designated deadlines
  • Follow established district/site protocols for attendance and absence reporting
  • Use assigned district systems and tools for communication and instruction
  • Assist licensed staff in planning and delivering instruction aligned with student needs and learning goals
  • Help establish and reinforce classroom behavior expectations
  • Motivate students toward achievement of learning objectives
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support
  • Give clear directions and check for student understanding
  • Support and implement Positive Behavior Support practices
  • Manage student behavior in alignment with district policies, IEPs, and legal requirements
  • Assist in acquiring and organizing instructional materials and supplies
  • Help maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Record and submit student data as requested
  • Supervise students in common areas (e.g., playground, cafeteria, hallways, bus loading zones)
  • Assist students with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and follow medical protocols as necessary
  • Support students with physical needs, including toileting, feeding, or therapy routines
  • Assist with medical procedures (e.g., G-tube feeding, suctioning, catheterization) under supervision of a nurse
  • Respect student privacy and dignity during personal care tasks
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support district goals

WORKING CONDITIONS

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $19.23 to $23.41 Per Hour
