Job summary

Cal Poly Humboldt Library seeks forward-thinking, service- and team-oriented Librarians for instruction and programming to support student success. The Library collaborates on information literacy, research services, and collection development, with both online and in-person delivery.

Temporary appointments may be made from the Librarian pool during the academic year; some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS degree required, or must graduate within 6 months of application.
• Preferred: experience with library instruction to undergraduate students.
• Preferred: experience providing reference services and working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective outreach to and expert research consultation and services in support of learning, research, teaching, and scholarship to assigned departments and colleges.
• Develop and deliver instructional services, online and in-person, including SkillShop workshops, information literacy instruction, online tutorials and guides, and other teaching and learning activities.
• Provide synchronous and asynchronous online instruction and reference services to support hybrid and online courses and programs.
• Provide general reference assistance in person and virtually; assist students and faculty in locating scholarly resources.
• Stay up-to-date with trends in academic libraries, information tools, accessibility, and related fields.
• Contribute to library initiatives and foster collaboration with librarians, faculty, students, and staff.
• Maintain content on library website and research guides; collaborate with faculty to identify resources and open educational resources.
• Collaborate on developing high-quality digital and print collections; some evening/weekend hours may be required.
