The University Library at Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturer librarians to provide research assistance, information literacy instruction, and create resources across units. Duties include helping students and faculty, developing guides, and supporting cataloging and access to digital resources.

Qualifying candidates hold MLS/MLIS (or will graduate within six months) and have library experience.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS degree or equivalent that must be completed within 6 months of application.
• Library experience or coursework reflecting duties in desired library unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide research assistance to students, faculty and staff.
• Deliver information literacy instruction sessions and workshops.
• Design and produce research guides, information literacy tutorials, program reports, and other resources in print, web-based and multimedia formats.
• Promote library resources and services to faculty, students and campus groups; plan and present library tours.
• Participate in collection development activities and budget allocation to ensure the subject collection meets curriculum needs.
• Assist in the purchase of print and non-print library materials and resources in collaboration with faculty.
• Perform original cataloging of library materials and integrate online journals and e-books into the library catalog.
• Maintain the library's integrated library system (ILS), digital databases, website, and other software and hardware.
