Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret USPS and institutional policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all activities between the United States postal service (USPS) and the institution.
• Delivers and picks up all mail.
• Receives USPS and UPS packages and coordinates delivery to the institutional property officer.
• The postal center director actively directs and supervises the inspection of all mail for contraband.
• Maintains and interprets USPS regulations concerning mail in an institutional environment.
• Maintains records of money instruments received and/or returned.
• Coordinates activities of E. H Cooper trust fund.
• Research records for the location of inmates in an effort to handle the mail properly.
• Actively direct and supervise the receiving and distribution of USPS and department mail.
• Actively directs and supervises the activities of both incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
• Plans and schedules work assignments and employee training.
