ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

At Eva’s Village, we are committed to empowering individuals in need by providing hope, support, and resources to help them lead healthy, stable, and productive lives. Our work focuses on people struggling with hunger, homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges. We are looking for passionate, dedicated team members who share our mission to make a lasting, positive impact in the lives of others.

Job Summary

Eva’s Village seeks a dynamic, relationship-driven fundraiser to build and manage a strong portfolio of foundations and corporate partners. The Institutional Giving Manager will drive growth by identifying and soliciting new funding opportunities while also nurturing and expanding existing relationships. This role involves deeply understanding donor priorities, educating them about Eva’s Village’s services, and securing funding through effective communication, cultivation, and stewardship.

The Institutional Giving Manager, reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, will be a key member on the development team, collaborating with the Individual Giving Manager, Grant Writer, Digital Media Specialist, and Database Coordinator, to achieve fundraising goals.

With significant support from our seasoned grant writer who researches grant opportunities, drafts proposals, and manages our grants tracking system, the Institutional Giving Manager will also research funding opportunities, collaborate with the Grant Writer to develop comprehensive and compelling proposals, ensure proposals are submitted on a timely basis, and approve reports prior to submission.

Additionally, the Institutional Giving Manager will work with the Grant Writer to identify, write, and submit Government Grant proposals, as well as execute these contracts. The overall fundraising goal for both Institutional Grants and Government Grants is $5.5 million.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive institutional giving strategy, focusing on securing new foundation and corporate grants and increasing support from existing partners.
  • Act as the primary contact for Institutional Donors, establishing effective relationships and providing ongoing communication, updates, and reports.
  • Research and pursue new philanthropic funding opportunities, monitoring news and press about relevant foundations, corporations, and organizations.
  • Create opportunities for donor recognition and stewardship to ensure institutional donors feel valued and connected.
  • Utilize donor database to track interactions, manage relationships, and analyze fundraising performance.
  • Collaborate with the Grant Writer to craft compelling proposals, reports, and strategic communications.
  • Track grant deliverables and ensure timely submission of reports and proposals.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on fundraising progress, successes, and challenges.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in institutional giving and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Work with the COO & Finance Department on program budgets and Government Grant contract completion.

Donor Relations

  • Maintain ongoing communication with institutions through calls, written communication, and visits.
  • Develop and propose new donor cultivation strategies, including events and strategic partnerships.
  • Assist in planning marketing and communication materials to promote programs and success stories.
  • Represent Eva’s Village at events and meetings to promote the organization and build awareness.
  • Manage the Fund-A-Meal Corporate Volunteerism Program in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing institutional relationships and securing significant gifts from foundations and corporations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning skills, and experience developing fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills for articulating the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Relationship-building skills and ability to navigate complex partnerships.
  • Experience with donor management software (Raisers Edge preferred).
  • Ability to handle pressure, work in a fast-paced environment, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
