Job summary

EagleBank is seeking an Instant Payments Specialist to join the Electronic Payments Operations team. You will own day-to-day operations across Zelle, RTP, FedNow and related real-time rails, lead exception handling and escalations, and help enforce network rules and risk controls.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with instant payment rails in banking, strong analytical skills, and the ability to support 24x7 payment windows and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in bank payment operations, including real-time or instant payment rails (Zelle, RTP, FedNow)
• AFPP/APRP/AAP or equivalent within 18 months of starting role
• Knowledge of RTP, FedNow, and Zelle network rules and settlement mechanics
• Understanding of Regulation E, OFAC, BSA/AML, and payment fraud controls
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under time-critical conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours to support extended and 24x7 payment windows

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational ownership across Zelle, RTP, FedNow and related real-time rails.
• Manage exception handling and escalations; ensure compliance with network rules and operating circulars.
• Partner with Fraud and Risk on real-time payment controls; support build-out of Money Movement Hub capabilities.
• Serve as escalation point and mentor for the team.

Responsibilities

The Instant Payments Specialist serves as a member of EagleBank's Electronic Payments Operation team, providing day-to-day operational ownership and subject matter expertise across Zelle, RTP, FedNow, and related real-time payment rails. This role leads exception handling and escalations, ensures compliance with network rules and operating circulars, partners with Fraud and Risk on real-time payment controls, and supports the continued build-out of the Bank's Money Movement Hub capabilities. The ideal candidate has direct hands-on experience operating instant payment rails in a bank environment and can serve as the escalation point and mentor for the team.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 2 years experience in bank payment operations, including direct experience with real-time or instant payment rails (Zelle, RTP, FedNow)
• Accredited Faster Payments Professional (AFPP) obtained within 18 months of accepting role
• Working knowledge of RTP, FedNow, and Zelle network rules, settlement mechanics, and exception processing
• Understanding of Regulation E, OFAC, BSA/AML, and payment fraud controls
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under time-critical conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours to support extended and 24x7 payment windows

Preferences:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, or related field
• 2 years experience with ACH, wire transfer, or card operations
• Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) or Accredited Faster Payments Professional (AFPP)
• Experience with payment hub or core payment platforms (FIS Money Movement Hub or similar)
