Job summary

Miller Industries, Inc. is seeking motivated individuals in Tennessee to assemble and install components for heavy-duty towing and recovery equipment. You will work on assemblies, route hoses and wires, and may interact with customers. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Ability to stand on concrete for long shifts (10–12 hours).
  • Must be able to climb ladders and crawl under trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install components and finished wreckers.
  • Assemble subassemblies and route hoses and wires.
  • Interact with customers as needed.
  • Overtime may be required.

Summary:

Summary :

Primarily responsible for the assembly and installation of components and finished wreckers. Assemble subassemblies, route hose and wires. There will be some interaction with customers. Tools required . Overtime may be required .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Measures distances with rule to lay out work in body of truck .

Drills holes and bolts metal framework and supports in place.

Cuts, drills, and fits brackets, supports, covers, and fixtures from metal sheet, strap or bar stock.

Bolts and screws control panels and assembled operating units to framework.

Connects electrical wiring and cables.

Installs lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, wall boxes, and terminal boards.

Performs frame drilling, electronic, and hydraulic installation of towing equipment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to:

Stand on concrete for 10 to 12 hours shifts.

Climb ladders.

Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, grab, and twist.

Crawl under trucks.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals .

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form . Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation .

Regularly required to talk and hear.

Must rarely lift and/or move up to 75+lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Occasionally required to work four 12-hour days, up to 5 days consecutively as business demands.

Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.

Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.

Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions; precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.

Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.

Benefits: ( Beginning on 91 st day one of employment unless stated otherwise)

  • Day Shift opportunities available Second shift employees receive a $1.50/hr premium (where applicable)
