Job summary

Carter Lumber Company in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Installed Framing Field Supervisor to lead the framing process for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and customer contracts. This role requires expert knowledge of building materials, local codes, and safe installation practices, with a strong commitment to customer service.

You will coordinate deliveries, supervise crew performance, and ensure timely, high-quality construction on every project.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in heavy framing.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work under time constraints.
• Knowledge of scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analyze jobsite prior to beginning of the job to ensure quality construction.
• Review construction documents and understand material needed to build.
• Frame buildings according to blueprint.
• Create and support a safe work environment on the job site to protect the company's interests.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure material delivery and that the labor broker receives plans.
• Schedule delivery according to the Construction Manager schedule and ensure material delivery.
• Ensure framing complies with OSHA, Carter Lumber standards and rules, including cleanliness and safety.
• Ensure project is completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure customers receive the highest quality workmanship.
• Respond to problems and complaints in a patient and understanding manner.
• Acquire training to build the product safely and efficiently.
• Become certified in the product/area installed to provide the best service.

A Carter Lumber Installed Framing Field Supervisorwill manage the framing process for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and customers contracts. Knowledge of building materials, local building codes and proper installation techniques will be vital in this position’s success as well as, a strong commitment to customer service. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements

• Possess strong math skills
• Ability to follow directions both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems
• Knowledgeable in scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro.

• Schedule the delivery according to the builder’s Construction Manager schedule and ensure that the material is delivered.
• Ensure that the laborers frame in compliance with OSHA, builders and Carter Lumber standards and rules, including cleanliness and safety.
• Ensures that the project is completed in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

• Ensures that customers are given the highest quality of workmanship.
• This is accomplished through timely completion of the job, attention to detail, following the company’s code of conduct and the ability to react to problems and complaints in a patient and understanding manner.

Knowledge & Training:

• Responsible for acquiring the training needed to build the product safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for becoming certified in the product/area that is being installed to ensure that we are providing the best service to our customers.
