Job Title: Rink Installer

Job Description

The Rink Installer plays a key role in building and installing rink systems on commercial construction job sites across various locations. This position involves extensive travel, hands-on installation work, and close collaboration with a small team to deliver high-quality, safe, and precise installations. You will learn to interpret technical documents, operate tools and equipment, and support the full installation process while maintaining a professional attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications related to rink installation projects.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.

• Safely operate and maintain basic installation tools and equipment, including standard power and hand tools.

• Take direction from supervisors and follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

• Work collaboratively with teammates in 2–3 person crews to accomplish daily tasks and project goals.

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies as required on commercial construction job sites.

• Work outdoors and indoors on commercial construction sites in all weather conditions.

• Complete OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 annual safety certification as provided by the company.

• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company on the road.

• Travel 100% of the time to various job sites, often working on the road for extended periods.

• Read, understand, and comprehend work instructions and procedure manuals for installation tasks.

• Work independently when needed while paying close attention to detail and quality.

• Communicate effectively and interact constructively with team members and leadership.

• Solve practical problems and adapt to a variety of situations and variables on job sites.

• Lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 100 pounds, as part of daily installation work.

• Work safely around moving machinery and equipment, and handle exposure to changes in temperature, humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.

• Demonstrate willingness to learn, retain new information, and develop additional technical skills over time.

• Some experience in construction or general labor (preferred).

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (preferred).

• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

• Ability to pass required drug tests.

• Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with general construction tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, floor installation, and equipment operation.

• Familiarity with rebar work, HVAC-related tasks, and welding is a plus.

• Experience using power tools and hand tools in a construction or installation setting.

• Strong reliability and consistent attendance.

• Demonstrated good work ethic and commitment to completing tasks safely and correctly.

• Willingness to travel for 100% of the work schedule and spend extended periods on the road.

• Interest in learning welding, pipefitting, and refrigeration skills.

• Ability to work effectively in small crews of 2–3 people.

Work Environment

The work is physically demanding and involves standing, sitting, and walking for long periods, as well as bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. You will regularly lift and move weights up to 100 pounds and work around moving machinery, with exposure to significant changes in temperature and humidity, as well as dust, fumes, and gases. A professional appearance is expected on job sites, and adherence to all safety procedures and protective equipment requirements is essential.

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, D.C..

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
