Job summary

Gallaher Fire, Security, and Communications seeks an Installation Technician to install, configure, service, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems including Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Calls and Intercoms. The technician will uphold our culture of integrity and legendary service while coordinating with project leads and clients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College graduates with a related degree or equivalent coursework preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Tennessee Alarm System Contractor License (must pass state requirements to obtain, including drug screen, background check and fingerprinting).
  • NICET Certification, optional.
  • 1 year of industry related experience preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems including Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercoms.
  • Possess both technical and computer skills.
  • Effective communications skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Program, start-up, troubleshoot and commission new system installation.
  • Performs basic point-to-point troubleshooting on Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls and Intercom systems as required.
  • Clearly communicate with project lead and client on project status, challenges, and completion dates.
  • Assist with installation projects, with direction for a successful installation.
  • Identify installation or system issues to project lead.
  • Review contract and design documents related to the project for accuracy prior to installation of system.
  • Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed and working according to code.
  • Completed detailed project reports.
  • Respond to emergency service calls.
  • Maintains strong written and effective oral communication skills for both internal and external clients.
  • Shifttimes may vary based on assignments. Rotation on-call schedule may be required.
  • Prompt, regular attendance in-person and on-site during regular business hours and as needed.

Job description

An Installation Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, servicing,troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage systems, including but not limitedto Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercomsystems. The Technician must be a role model to the organization with regardsto integrity, commitment to results, inspiring teamwork and building on ourstrong culture of employee recognition while delivering legendary service toour customers, both internal and external.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program,start-up, troubleshoot and commission new system installation.

Work Requirements
  • Position requires climbingladders, frequent walking, stooping, crawling, pushing, balancing, liftingof more than 75 lbs. and operating heavy equipment.
  • Works in confined areas,stockroom, closets, etc. above and below ground level.
  • Ability to travel with a crewand ride a company provided vehicle.
