Job summary

Fort Madison Community School District seeks a passionate Spanish Teacher for the Fort Madison Junior/Senior High School to foster language proficiency and cultural understanding among grades 7–12.

The role requires a valid Iowa teaching license with endorsements in 5-12 Spanish or K-12 World Language. Collaboration with staff, MTSS/PBIS participation, and ongoing professional development are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Iowa Teaching License and endorsements: 5-12 Spanish or K-12 World Language: Spanish.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and assess lesson plans aligned with Iowa Core Standards for World Languages.
• Create a positive classroom environment aligned with PBIS and MTSS.
• Deliver Spanish instruction using diverse teaching methods for grades 7-12.
• Monitor progress with assessments and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues to set priority standards and common assessments.
• Communicate with parents and school community about student progress.
• Engage in professional development to stay current in world language instruction.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field

Master's degree preferred
