Job summary

Orono Public Schools' Orono Community Education seeks 7th and 8th grade volleyball coaches for the upcoming season. You will provide coaching and instruction to middle school students in a competitive athletic program, with practices Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and 1–2 matches per week, typically finishing by 7:00 PM.

The season runs August 24 through October 13. You will collaborate with youth sports coordinators to implement a coaching philosophy that supports

• Understanding of fundamental skills and strategies.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in collaboration with others.
• Understanding of the role of parent involvement and ability to collaborate with parents.
• Commitment to supporting the whole student/athlete in athletic competition, academics, and character development.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and instruction to middleschool students in a competitiveathletic program.
• Season starts August 24 and ends October 13, practices run Monday - Thursday approximately 3-6pm.
• 1 - 2 matches per week (usually done by 7:00pm)
• The season includes skill development and competition versus schools from the Metro West and Wright County athletic conferences.
• Work collaboratively with youth sports coordinatorto implement a coaching philosophy that is supportive of student/athletes' development.
• Communicate effectively with student/athletes, coaching staff, parents, and building administrators, regarding program needs and developments.
