Job summary

St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) in Seattle is seeking a long term substitute Librarian for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports preschool through eighth grade, as part of the specialists team, with additional time based on school needs.

The ideal candidate will be mission-driven, creative, and capable of leading library activities, collaborating with colleagues and families in a diverse Catholic community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or similar field (Master’s preferred).
• Understanding and genuine appreciation of children.
• Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith-centered community.
• Ability to manage books, materials, and technology in a vibrant school library.
• Effective communicator who can work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents, as well as organize book fairs and other library events.
• Manage a classroom with respect and creativity.
• Preferred active Catholic.
• Current Washington (or out of state) teaching certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• The long term sub Librarian may support core instruction in primary and middle grades.
• Opportunity to lead a middle school elective and collaborate with PLC teams.
• Collaborate with staff and parents to foster a faith-centered, inclusive learning environment.
