Job summary

St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) in Seattle, WA seeks a long-term Substitute Librarian for the 2026-2027 school year. This self-contained role supports the specialist team and serves students from preschool through eighth grade.

The ideal candidate will hold a teaching credential and bring energy, faith, and a strong work ethic to help students succeed. Responsibilities include library management, collaboration with teachers, and opportunities to lead a middle school elective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Education or similar field (Master’s preferred).
• Understanding and genuine appreciation of children.
• Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith-centered community.
• Ability to manage books, materials, and technology in a vibrant school library.
• Effective communicator who can work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents, as well as organize book fairs and other library events.
• Manage a classroom with respect and creativity.
• Preferred active Catholic.
• Current Washington teaching certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Serve as long-term substitute librarian for preschool through eighth grade.
• Support core instruction in primary and middle grades and lead a middle school elective.
• Collaborate with PLCs, plan jointly, and implement new ideas.
• Be mission-driven, highly motivated, dedicated, and creative, and partner with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
