Job summary

YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to design and lead safe, high-energy group classes across branches. You will plan engaging routines, cue movements, and ensure participant safety.

Responsibilities include selecting music, supervising equipment, recording attendance, and traveling to multiple locations as needed. Certification requirements must be maintained, with 90-day timelines for missing credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS, First Aid, and emergency oxygen administration certifications.
• Active national YMCA or group exercise instructor certification; if not, must obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Design and teach effective, safe and enjoyable exercise classes.
• Select appropriate music and tempo for each class.
• Oversee equipment use, maintenance and safety.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings.
• Plan classes with progression and varied routines.
