Job summary

YMCA in Cleveland is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to deliver energizing group classes at our Cleveland Y location, promoting wellness, safety, and member engagement.

You will lead classes, answer questions, stay current with wellness trends, build relationships, maintain attendance, and perform other duties as assigned. Certification and CPR/First Aid within 30 days are required; experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification in area(s) of expertise.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred
• Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED required within 30 days of hire
• National certification (e.g. ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction
• New Employee Orientation required within first week of hire

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals
• Answer member questions and provide support to help them achieve their fitness goals
• Maintain a working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
• Build effective and authentic relationships with members, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA
• Keep accurate class attendance records
• Perform other duties as assigned

Join our team as a Group Exercise Instructor at our Cleveland Y location and make a positive impact on people's lives! We offer a flexible schedule, and are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors to teach one or multiple formats of our group exercise program. We want instructors who are exceptional motivators and great relationship builders as a part of our member-centered environment. As an Exercise Instructor, you will deliver energizing and educational group classes that promote member wellness, safety, and engagement.

Responsibilities of a Group Fitness Instructor:

• Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals
• Answer member questions and provide support to help them achieve their fitness goals
• Maintain a working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
• Build effective and authentic relationships with members, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA
• Keep accurate class attendance records
