Job summary

Chicago Public Schools on the North/Northwest Side is seeking a full-time Teacher to lead instructional planning, manage classrooms, and monitor student progress. Under the supervision of the principal, you will prepare lesson plans, use diverse materials, communicate with families, and participate in professional development; compliance with CPS Uniform Discipline Code is expected.

The position requires a valid Illinois teaching certificate and ability to work with a diverse student body;

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: completion of student teaching and ISBE teaching certificate.
• Licensure: valid ISBE license (PEL or ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge: subject matter knowledge and classroom management; ability to communicate with parents/guardians.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare written plans aligned with instructional objectives.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate attendance/records.
• Communicate with parents regarding progress and behavior; collaborate with staff.
• Support attendance initiatives and participate in in-service meetings.
