Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain ISBE teaching certificate(s).

• Knowledge of state certification requirements and classroom and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs and to work with students, parents, guardians, staff, and community.
• Strong written and spoken communication and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional activities and prepare lesson plans aligned with instructional objectives.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress data.
• Evaluate pupil progress and communicate with parents about academic progress and conduct.
• Apply current teaching methods and materials, and participate in professional development.
• Coordinate field trips and participate in after-school activities as needed.
