Lincoln High in Des Moines, IA seeks a Dream to Teach Mentor Teacher (Stipend) to support 6th–12th grade students pursuing education careers.

The role is part-time with a $2,097 monthly stipend, requiring Iowa teaching licensure, strong evaluation history, and comfort with differentiated instruction, ESL and special needs support.

Mentors will provide classroom-based guidance, participate in professional development, and collaborate with the Dream to Teach team and district staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Teaching License.
• Evidence of exemplary classroom teaching through evaluations, portfolio documentation, NBCT status or other recognition for classroom excellence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction for gifted, ESL, and special needs students.
• Successful teacher leadership or administrative experience.

Responsabilités

• Establish confidential, trustful relationships with students to foster self-efficacy as future leaders.
• Weekly check-ins on academics, behavior and progress with students.
• Chaperone college visits and meetings with community partners.
• Assist students in reflecting on practice and reviewing work to inform instruction.
• Use equity principles to deepen students’ application of standards.
• Model innovative teaching through co‑teaching and demo lessons; arrange observations for students.
• Provide professional learning opportunities and collaborate with mentors and district staff.
• Participate in Dream to Teach professional development and meet performance targets.
• Maintain and submit required documentation.
