Job summary

The Baldwin School invites applications for a Leave Replacement Middle School Science Teacher to cover three Grade 7 Chemistry sections and one Grade 12 Environmental Science section for January–April. Candidates should bring strong knowledge of science education for girls and experience with diverse learners.

Successful candidates will collaborate with grade-level teams to create engaging, rigorous lessons and foster a supportive classroom community.

Qualifications

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Commitment to an inclusive classroom community that respects diverse perspectives.
Expertise in differentiating instruction in reading and writing.
Experience using academic technology software and classroom technology.
B.A. in Science is required; M.A. in Science or Education preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with other grade-level teachers to build cross-curricular connections.
Collaborate with the learning support team to scaffold and teach skills across all disciplines.
Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to growth for yourself and your students.
Carry out curriculum and lessons with the Department Chair to prepare students for the next level.
Assess student work and provide feedback.
Serve as an advisor, club leader, chaperone, or other co-curricular leader in the Middle School.
