Job summary

Livingston Public Schools seeks a qualified Middle School Science Teacher for a leave replacement at Heritage Middle School, from November 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

Candidates must hold a New Jersey Middle School Science or High School certification and demonstrate engaging instruction, inquiry-based learning, and effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues. Experience with OpenSciEd is a plus.

Middle School Science Teacher – Leave Replacement

Heritage Middle School
November 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027

Livingston Public Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher for a leave replacement position at Heritage Middle School, beginning November 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a valid New Jersey Middle School Science or High School Science certification appropriate for the assignment.
• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of science content and effective instructional practices appropriate for middle school students.
• Create an engaging, student-centered learning environment that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Develop and implement standards-aligned science instruction that supports diverse learners.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
• Utilize formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience with OpenSciEd is a plus.
