Lewiston Public Schools in Lewiston, Maine is seeking an Elementary School Teacher (PreK–6) to provide instruction, develop lesson plans, and support a diverse student body. The role emphasizes consistent daily attendance, collaboration with families, and alignment with district objectives.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and a Maine teaching certificate, pass a criminal history check, and be available five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Valid Maine teaching certificate with endorsement appropriate to the grade level (Elementary K–8 or Early Childhood for PreK).
• Completed criminal history record check (fingerprinting) as required by Maine law.
• Available and able to work 5 days per week per the Lewiston Public Schools schedule.

Responsabilités

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small-group instruction that adapts the curriculum to each student's needs.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that create an effective learning atmosphere.
• Identify student needs, make referrals, and help develop IEPs and other support plans in collaboration with district specialists.
• Assess and evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep records, and provide progress reports as requested.
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, and other means.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
• Plan and coordinate the work of ed techs and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
• Create engaging learning environments with displays, centers, and student work.
