Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools in Lewiston, ME, is seeking an Elementary Teacher (PreK-6) to join the Elementary Education department. This full-time, salaried role offers a salary range of $45,518.26 to $85,857.57 annually and requires five days per week availability and a valid Maine teaching certificate.

You will plan lessons, assess student progress, communicate with families, and coordinate ed techs and volunteers to support a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Maine teaching certificate with endorsement for the grade level.
• Criminal history record check (fingerprinting) required by Maine law.
• Available to work five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small-group instruction.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that create an effective learning atmosphere.
• Identify student needs and help develop strategies with IEPs and other plans.
• Assess and evaluate students' academic and social growth and provide progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, calls, conferences.
• Coordinate the work of ed techs and volunteers in classroom and on field trips.
• Create engaging learning environments with displays and centers.

Education
