Lewiston Public Schools is seeking a Certified Special Education Teacher to plan instruction and adapt educational programs for students with disabilities. The role involves resource room work, collaboration with general education staff, and managing IEP paperwork and family communication.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in education, a Maine teaching certificate, and the ability to work five days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education required.
• Experience in special education preferred.
• Valid Maine teaching certificate (282).
• Completed criminal history record check as required by Maine law.
• Available and able to work 5 days per week per the Lewiston Public Schools schedule.

Responsabilités

• Plan curriculum and teaching methods for students with disabilities.
• Administer educational testing and monitor progress.
• Serve as case manager for IEPs and prepare required documents.
• Communicate with families and collaborate with general education staff.
