Job summary

Sonoco in Union, SC is seeking an Inspector Packer I to support basic manufacturing processes on the 3rd shift. You will visually inspect parts, assist with post-molding operations, and ensure proper packing with accurate labeling and counts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing.
• Visually check molded or extruded parts for quality defects per requirements.
• Perform post-molding/extrusion tasks such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly as assigned.
• Pack quality parts in cartons with correct labeling and quantities.
• Segregate and report non-conforming product per procedures.
• Maintain production data records (run sheets, scrap sheets, etc.).
• Record SPC/SQC data where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Overtime required at times.

Wage: $20.34 / Hourly Plus .30 cent Shift differential
Shifts Available: 3rd Shift Hours: 11 PM - 7 PM

What You'll Be Doing:

• Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing.

• Performs post-molding/extrusion operations such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly, etc., as assigned.
• Packs quality parts in the appropriate cartons with correct labeling and quantities.

• Maintains proper accounting and recording of production data such as run records, scrap sheets, etc.
• Records SPC/SQC data where applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor

• You have previous manufacturing experience and/or training
• Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring
• Arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record
• An individual looking to advance with a high school diploma or GED
