Job summary

Sonoco in Union, SC is hiring an Inspector Packer I to visually inspect molded parts, perform post-mold operations, and pack finished goods. The role collaborates with plant teams and maintains production records. Overtime may be required, and a high school diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.
• Strong attendance record and punctuality.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
• Visually inspect molded/extruded parts for quality defects per requirements.
• Perform post-molding/extrusion tasks such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly as assigned.
• Pack quality parts in correct cartons with labeling and quantities.
• Segregate and report non-conforming products per procedures.
• Record production data (run records, scrap sheets, etc.) and SPC/SQC data where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Overtime may be required.
