Job summary

Sonoco Canada is hiring an Inspector Packer I for Union, SC. The role offers a $20.34 per hour base pay plus a $0.60 shift differential, with the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM. This position emphasizes quality inspection, packaging, data recording, and collaboration with plant teams.

Ideal candidates have high school diplomas or GEDs and prior manufacturing experience. Overtime may be required, and company benefits are available.

  • Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
  • Visually inspect molded or extruded parts for defects according to quality requirements.
  • Perform post-molding/extrusion duties such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly as assigned.
  • Pack quality parts in cartons with correct labeling and quantities.
  • Record production data (run logs, scrap sheets, SPC/SQC data) and report non-conforming product.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and participate in overtime as needed.
