Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to apply standard inspection procedures during and after construction, ensuring structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Immigration sponsorship or support is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification. Compensation is a range of $65,000.00–$100,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; may be substituted for experience.
• 1–4 years of construction inspection experience.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to pass MV screening.
• Preferred degrees in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Client-requested certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents.
• Makes field notes and computations.

Compensation for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
