The City of Houston is seeking an inspector to enforce ordinances and technical specs for Right of Way Utilities, sidewalk, driveway, and paving inspections, including 311 investigations. Responsibilities include site inspections, identifying issues, and issuing notices and citations.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, plus up to 18 months of related training and two years of journey-level inspection experience. A valid Texas driver’s license is required.
Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Enforces ordinances and technical specifications for Right of Way Utilities, Sidewalk, Driveway, Paving inspections and 311 investigations to assure conformance with plans and specifications.
The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis.
This is a Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.
Requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and up to 18 months of education or training in the area of inspection to be performed.
Two (2) years of journey level or skilled experience related to the area of inspection to be performed are required.
Require a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.
