Job Title: Inspector

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Inspector position will:

Audit and inspect products and processes to assess compliance to established requirements. Document results of those audits and inspections. Also required to perform other tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect product compliance to drawing and/or other requirements in assigned area.
  • Measure and evaluate materials, components, and products utilizing designated gaging methods.
  • Quarantine nonconforming product as appropriate.
  • Provide analytical measurements of materials, components, and products in support of problem resolution.
  • Perform necessary functional and safety testing.
  • Document specified machine and component traceability requirements.
  • Monitor the calibration status of any gages or equipment in use by Inspector.
  • Perform process audits to assess compliance to specified requirements.
  • Document the results of inspections and audits.
  • Coordinate and/or perform product and inventory sorting by specified inspection method.
  • Perform other duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
  • Follow all company rules and policies
  • Willingness to demonstrate a commitment to all responsibilities on a daily basis

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use gauges (i.e. calipers, micrometers, specific test equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to comprehend and understand work instruction requirements.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem solving and math skills.
  • Ability to perform to required frequent physical demands including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Physically able to do bending, twisting, gripping, grasping and lifting

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience/combined education
