Job summary

Unique Industries, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspections and verifications on products across production stages to ensure customer specifications and GMP standards are met. Under the direct supervision of the Sr.

Quality Assurance Manager, you will document results, support GMP audits, and assist with rework and nonconformance reporting while maintaining quality databases. The role requires a high school diploma and manufacturing experience, with strong reading,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience or training in a manufacturing role.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Audits product quality on forming machines and printing presses, ensuring specifications are met.
  • Inspects incoming materials, confirms specs, and rejects nonconforming items for return to vendor.
  • Documents inspection results in reports/logs and updates quality databases.
  • Audits raw materials used on machines (films, corrugate).
  • Performs line clearings and verifies startup for new orders.
  • Performs QA lab tests and other required measurements.
  • Places product on QA Hold and logs nonconformances.
  • Conducts calibration on equipment as needed.
  • Collects samples and maintains databases; aids in quality concerns.

Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and verifications on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are met and that company quality standards are followed. The inspector will inspect, verify, monitor, and report on product quality and established processes.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Audits product quality on forming machines and printing presses including measuring, weighing, counting, and appearance, ensuring product meets specifications.
  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, reviewing documents, and rejecting unacceptable material for return to vendor
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and updates data as needed in the company manufacturing software
  • Audits raw materials being used on forming machines; such as films and corrugate
  • Performs line clearings and verifies production line start-up to ensure a successful transition to new order
  • Performs Albumen (Egg), Moisture, Rigidity and Oil/ Water Testing, and other quality lab measurement devices as required
  • Places product on QA Hold as needed; including finding clean points and entering nonconformance details into Quality Database
  • Performs calibration on bowl cameras
  • Collects new product samples and maintain database
  • Assists with any quality concerns in the plant, including rework support
  • Contributes to the successful execution of internal GMP audits, fosters a culture of quality and compliance by leading through example
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or High School Diploma Equivalency required
  • Experience and/or training in a manufacturing role
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use repetitive hand motions for up to twelve hours
  • While performing the duties of this position this position is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and noise. Must wear required PPE at all times on production floor
  • While performing the duties of this job, this position is occasionally required to reach overhead, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.
