Job summary

Kinetic Engine Systems in Southwick, MA, is seeking a full-time Inspector to ensure the quality of manufactured parts on site. You will inspect parts to customer specifications and document results in the ERP system.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years as an inspector in manufacturing, aerospace experience preferred, and proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and indicators. JD may require reading blueprints and performing NCRs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; tech school preferred.
• 5+ years experience as an Inspector in Manufacturing.
• Experience in Aerospace industry preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Experience as a DQR for customers preferred.
• Ability to use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
• Able to follow setup instructions and operate machine controls.
• Ability to write NCRs (nonconformance reports).
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Understanding of ERP systems and how it pertains to inspection.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with measurement equipment (borescopes, surface profilometers, gage blocks, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges).
• Strong understanding of 6S.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety culture and wear PPE when required.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of various part numbers.
• Enter inspection results into ERP system.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets and work instructions.
• Perform receiving inspection of raw materials and parts from outside processes.
• Use measuring equipment including calipers, indicators and micrometers.
• Write nonconformance reports (NCR).
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Salary Range: $28.00 To $32.25 Hourly

Job Position Summary: You will be responsible to ensure the integrity and suitability of manufactured goods for delivery to customers. You will perform inspections of parts according to customer specifications.

You must have:

• A high School Diploma or Equivalent. Tech School preferred.
• 5+ yrs Experience as an Inspector for Manufacturing.
• Experience in the Aerospace industry, preferred

• The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
• The ability to follow set up instructions, set up, and operate machine controls.

• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning computer systems and how it pertains to inspection.
• The ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Working Conditions:

• Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
• May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
• Ability to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.
• Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
