Job summary

Ipsen USA is seeking an Inspector to ensure conformance of materials and products through meticulous inspection during production. You will read blueprints, perform visual and dimensional checks, and verify supplier materials against specifications.

Calibrate and maintain measurement tools, document results, and communicate adjustments to production leadership. A high school diploma and 2+ years in manufacturing inspection are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional training in metrology is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of related inspection experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with measuring equipment (calipers, gauges, durometer).
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; strong mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product during production for conformance to specification.
• Verify conformance of supplied products; perform planned inspections.
• Visually inspect parts for surface defects and measurement accuracy.
• Check dimensions, squareness, hole locations, and finishes per drawings.
• Ensure measurement tools are calibrated and maintained.
• Approve incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
• Document inspection results and summarize re-work and waste.

The Inspector position is responsible for following company ISO procedure for incoming, in-process and final inspection, calibration of product and material identified as requiring conformance verification.

• Inspects product during production for conformance to specification.
• Responsible for verifying the conformance of supplied products, where required. Extent of verification is based on the type of received product.
• Products requiring inspection will be inspected as per plan. Visually examines parts for surface defects such as material shortage, flash, cracks, etc.
• Works from blueprint drawings, charts, or specifications to check dimensions, squareness, hole locations, surface relationships, finish, material defects, etc.
• Ensure that all protractors, squares, and combination squares are calibrated to the standards described in work instructions.
• Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement test; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/manufacturing manager.
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products to rework; confirming rework.
• Upload pictures and edit them for reports.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste.
• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calls for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations.

• Ability to travel to customer or vendor sites as needed. Travel is approx. 5% of duty.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. Education or training beyond High School strongly desired.
• Minimum 2 or more years of related experience inspecting in a manufacturing environment required
