Job summary

A leading project management firm is seeking an experienced Inspector to work in South, Central, and North Jersey. Responsibilities include attending pre-construction meetings, evaluating construction plans, conducting field inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection, good communication skills, and be trainable in OSHA safety practices. Qualifications

Job description

Hill International is seeking an Inspector in South, Central, and North Jersey

Responsibilities
  • Attend pre-construction meetings when necessary.
  • Evaluate plans and specifications for construction projects to ensure conformance with regulations.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify standards of structures and materials.
  • Assist in issuing violation notices and stop-work orders where structures and materials do not comply with regulations.
  • Report deviations and non-compliance with the scope of work.
  • Prepare a detailed daily inspector’s report with manpower, material quantity, equipment, photographs, and maintain records of documentation.
  • Attend meetings of construction projects.
  • Successfully complete Rail Safety Training (NJT Light Rail or other Agency Training may be required).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Inspector in multiple construction disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural).
  • Active experience in rail yard environment.
  • Education or training in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Trained in OSHA 30 hours construction safety.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficient knowledge of construction work safety.
  • Computer literacy and good written and verbal communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Cell phone with smartphone capabilities (receive/send files, photos, video).
