Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Team Lead to play a key role on our team in Canton, MA office. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural inspections and technical management who can bring creative problem-solving skills balanced with a strong background in the field. This position requires the ability to manage inspection tasks, liaise with clients and government agencies, and direct teams. The Senior Team Leader is responsible for leadership and development of inspection teams and assisting in the growth of the local office.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises above water and underwater bridge and ancillary inspection and evaluations.
• Reviews, analyzes and resolves field issues.
• Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Performs complex difficult inspection, access, coordination, and estimates in inspection projects.
• Produce and review detailed inspection reports, ensuring timely submission for FHWA compliance
• Manages and provides leadership on inspection projects, including:
  • Proposal preparation
  • Project budgets
  • Project schedules and timely completion
  • Project quality
  • Project profitability
• Mentors field staff on the purpose and processes of inspections and inspection techniques.
• Make independent decisions within a general framework.
• Is active in technical societies.
• Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
• Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
• Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receive such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four‑year university.
• A minimum of 12 years of bridge or ancillary structure inspection experience.
• Must have passed the NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges course #130055 or #130056.
• Proficiency with MassDOT Bridge Inspection Management System (4D), and MassDOT Bridge Inspection Handbook (2015/2019)
• Proficiencywith the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI)
