Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Mesquite, TX is seeking an Inspections Technician to independently inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler, alarm, and extinguisher systems. You will ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes while documenting results accurately.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fire and life safety, a clean driving record, and NICET Level I or higher preferred. This is a full-time on-site role with training and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and inspection procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

The Inspections Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
