The Inside Service Support role is critical to supporting dealers and end users by providing day-to-day technical assistance related to equipment operation, repair, and troubleshooting. This position is primarily performed in a professional office setting, utilizing phone, email, and computer-based tools to diagnose issues and recommend solutions. The primary goal of this role is to help ensure customer machines remain operational and downtime is minimized.
This position works cross-functionally with Parts, Sales, and Warehouse teams and serves as a key technical resource for the dealer network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical assistance to dealers, internal sales, and parts teams regarding equipment operation, repair, and maintenance
- Support end users directly when dealer resources require additional technical guidance
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues using schematics, documentation, and experience
- Document all service calls by completing daily call sheets detailing issues, actions taken, and resolutions
- Initiate and maintain follow-up communication with dealer management regarding technical discussions and recommended solutions
- Demonstrate consistent follow-up and accountability on all technical inquiries
- Attend required training classes to maintain and expand technical knowledge
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments to resolve issues efficiently
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Primarily office-based position
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing, or scaling may be required
- Some travel required for training or support purposes
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical training or experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic circuits
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
