POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing specific accounts assigned to designated Account Managers. Provides support to Account Managers by maintaining and growing a profitable client base. Ensures exceptional customer service through accurate order placement, timely follow-up, and precise quoting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Actively participate in safety huddles and utilize the Safety Observation System (SOS).
- Promptly report unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Consistently use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Meet with Account Managers daily.
- Work with the store’s systems.
- Ensure quotes are available for proper billing in the shipper’s office.
- Responsible for sales to assigned accounts:
- Understand pricing policies and clearly communicate any acceptance deadlines on quotations subject to later acceptance.
- Maintain familiarity with yard inventory and surplus items.
- Prepare estimates and/or quotations.
- Maintain a communication record for all existing and prospective contractor customers assigned:
- Stay informed about competitor pricing.
- Maintain satisfactory knowledge of the products expected to sell:
- Know current pricing and inventory levels.
- Handle minor complaints (refer major issues to a manager).
- Understand profit, gross profit dollars, and margin.
- Sell integrated products.
- Work toward achieving gross margin goals.
- Wear company clothing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: .
· Able to communicate with customers and employees, using verbal and written skills.
· Strong math skills with the ability to accurately read orders, follow instructions, and complete required forms.
· Solid people skills to enable the building of successful work relationships with operational people as well as sales support.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED. Post secondary education preferred.
- Experience in sales in the Lumber and Building Materials industry preferred.
REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift 60# from floor to waist; lift 40# from waist to shoulder.
- Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet.
- Push 60# in a wheeled cart.
- Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repeatedly.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Reach overhead to grasp materials.
- Work inside a controlled environment, but prepared to go outside if needed.
