Qualifications

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the Inside Sales team and day-to-day activities of the department to ensure team members meet or exceed their individual goals. Provides training on new products or services, coaches employees on customer interaction, and monitors market trends. Supervises maintenance and reviews complex customer account profiles. Identifies and enhances sales opportunities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
  • Provides input on sales goals, quotas, and metrics for team members. Meets with team members to discuss goals, progress, and challenges. Provides performance feedback and coaching. Reviews reports from sales representatives to identify improvement areas.
  • Reviews customer feedback and inquiries to ensure customer needs are met by providing excellent service and answering questions about products or services. Recommends actions based on client needs and budget.
  • Trains employees on company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and enforces rules and regulations for efficient department operation.
  • Reviews competitive activity and regional pricing levels within the territory to ensure market awareness.
  • Travels to customer locations for follow-up, presentations, or demonstrations.
  • Trains sales representatives and new hires on products, techniques, and closing sales.
  • Hires, coaches, develops, monitors, and evaluates staff performance. Reviews and recommends personnel actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular, full-time, on-site attendance during scheduled hours.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • C+ Sales Level Classification.
  • 5+ years of inside sales experience, preferably as a team supervisor in the steel industry. Prior experience in tubing or industrial sales is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of Atlas’ capabilities and internal requirements for efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, business systems, and mobile platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and draw conclusions.
  • Excellent customer service, supervisory, and sales skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Decisiveness and problem-solving skills for addressing customer complaints.
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal relationships with hiring managers, technical, and manufacturing personnel.
