Responsibilities

Inside Sales Representative — Flow Control & Process Valves

About the role

Do you have a strong phone presence, a genuine drive to close business, and the ability to build customer relationships in one of the most active process industry markets on the Gulf Coast?

As an Inside Sales Representative at PPV's Lake Charles, LA headquarters, you will be the inside engine behind our customer relationships — quoting accurately, processing orders efficiently, following up to drive conversion, and keeping oil and gas, petrochemical, and refining customers supplied with the safety relief valves, control valves, and process control equipment they depend on. You will work alongside our outside sales and service teams, coordinating across the full PPV product and service offering while helping grow and retain accounts across the Gulf Coast.

What You’ll Do

Inside Sales and Account Management

• Manage a portfolio of active accounts across oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, and related process industries on the Gulf Coast.
• Generate accurate quotes on safety relief valves, control valves, isolation valves, regulators, and related flow control and process control products and services.
• Follow up on open quotes with customers and close orders in a timely manner.
• Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities across PPV's full product and service offering.
• Proactively reach out to accounts showing declining activity to re-engage and generate additional orders.

Customer Service and Order Management

• Serve as the primary inside point of contact for assigned accounts — responding quickly and professionally to inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction on every interaction.
• Process customer orders, returns, and transactions accurately in the ERP system.
• Proactively keep customers informed on order status, delivery timelines, and any changes that affect their shipments.
• Recommend alternative products based on availability, cost, or specification when needed.
• Educate customers on PPV's flow control products, valve terminology, and service capabilities to improve account growth and customer satisfaction.

Operations and Warehouse Support

• Generate shipping labels and coordinate order fulfillment; pull and pack parts for customer orders as needed.
• Check in incoming freight and parcel deliveries; maintain accurate receiving records.
• Partner with the outside sales and service teams to ensure seamless customer experience from quote to delivery.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Must Have

• 3+ years of inside sales, account management, or customer service experience in a flow control, process industry, or industrial distribution environment.
• Strong phone presence and communication skills — comfortable managing a high volume of inbound and outbound customer interactions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and experience with ERP and/or CRM systems.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a large account portfolio accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine commitment to customer service and follow-through.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of flow control products — safety relief valves, control valves, isolation valves, regulators, or process instrumentation.
• Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining markets along the Gulf Coast.
• Familiarity with valve repair, remanufacturing, or VR-certified service operations.
• 5+ years of inside sales or technical customer service experience.
