Job summary

Floortex Design in Auburn, CA is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist to manage inbound and outbound sales, respond to inquiries, qualify leads, and guide clients through product options and solutions. The role collaborates with designers, contractors, and homeowners to understand project requirements, prepare quotes, and close sales.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in Retail/Inside Sales or related fields, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks from lead to invoicing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years proven work experience in Retail /Inside Sales, Account Management, Outside Sales, Construction, or similar role.
• Knowledge of flooring industry is mandatory.
• Proven ability to achieve sales goals, and close sales.
• Experience and/or confidence to manage client projects to include design/materials advise, cost management, resourceful problem solving, and assist with billing and collections if needed.
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong personal and professional judgment including critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Basic computer/social media and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep up to date on the wide selection of our company’s products, services offerings, and prices.
• Provide outstanding customer service and determine flooring project needs.
• Provide product and design advise along with flooring material options to fit customer budgets.
• Coordinate, or perform, home visits providing flooring samples, review space/area measurements, calculate number of materials needed and cost for project, and/or create estimate/proposals.
• Communicate with vendors to clarify product specifications, availability, and sampling requirements.
• Order materials, schedule installation team, ensure materials get to the jobsite on time, and perform quality control throughout project.
• Trouble shoot and solve all variety of problems that come up for each project, independently.
• Ensure follow up is completed on all jobs and that information is accurately maintained in QFloors, to include ‘take-off’s or any other changes.
• Manage invoicing with correct materials and labor costs, issue final payments, and help collect final payments where needed.
• Maintain showroom by keeping samples, displays and common areas neat, current, and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Role Description

The Inside Sales Specialist is a full-time role based in Auburn, CA. This role focuses on managing inbound and outbound sales activities, including responding to customer inquiries, qualifying leads, and guiding clients through product options and solutions. The Inside Sales Specialist will collaborate closely with designers, contractors, and homeowners to understand project requirements, prepare quotations, and follow up to close sales while maintaining strong relationships. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate records in the CRM, coordinating with showroom and operations teams on orders and deliveries, and supporting marketing and promotional initiatives. The role requires consistent communication, proactive outreach, and a commitment to providing a positive, professional customer experience.
