Job summary

Roberts Oxygen, a leader in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, is looking for an Inside Sales Representative / Relief Driver to join our team in Hagerstown, MD. You will support sales efforts, assist customers in person and over the phone, and help manage invoices and service.

Requires 2 years of inside sales or welding experience, a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or willingness to obtain), and the ability to lift 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2 years of inside sales and customer service, or welding experience
• Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or willing to obtain)
• Greet walk-in visitors and answer phones professionally
• Proven customer service experience through respectful interaction
• Process customer sales transactions and build relationships for future sales
• Support Sales staff with timely information, scheduling, and branch coverage
• Safely maneuver and load cylinders or other products
• Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and maintain dependable attendance
• Basic computer skills and data entry; ability to learn new programs
• Demonstrate basic mathematical aptitude

Requirements

What makes you stand out?

You have proven skills in providing excellent and effective customer service assisting both external and internal customers. Your passion is selling and you have general knowledge of welding products and hardgoods. You have a Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or is willing to obtain) and are ready and willing to perform relief delivery driving when needed.

Skills and experience requirements

• 2 years of insides sales and customer service, or welding experience
• Excellent driving record; Class A or B CDL is required, Hazmat and Tanker (X) endorsements - or willing to obtain endorsements
• Immediately and politely greet and assists walk-in visitors and customers, and promptly answers phones in a professional and courteous manner
• Proven customer service experience provided through thoughtful and respectful interaction with customers regarding services, products, and invoices
• Efficiently processes customer sales transactions while building trust and long-term relationships with customers to ensure future sales growth and company profitability
• Supports Sales staff/management by providing timely and correct customer information, follow up scheduling, and fill-in branch coverage, including relief delivery driving duties
• Safely maneuvers and loads cylinders or other products on trailers and customer transportation
• Committed to high performance through outstanding attendance and overall dependable work habits, Adheres to all company policies and guidelines as well as safety procedures
• Basic computer skills including internet searching, data entry, and ability to learn new programs
• Demonstrate basic mathematical aptitude and function
• Ability to lift 75lbs
• High school education or equivalent - Bachelor's degree is a plus
• If selected, ability to pass pre-employment screenings
