Job summary

Roberts Oxygen is seeking a Safety & Compliance Manager to cover our Northern territory, located in Gaithersburg, MD. The role supports multiple locations and drives safety and regulatory compliance across the region.

You will implement safety programs, conduct audits, and coach teams to mitigate risks, while staying current with OSHA, DOT, FDA, EPA, and local regulations. Travel up to 50% is required. English fluency is essential, Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the chemical, gas, oil, or pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Safety and Compliance field.
• Regulatory knowledge and/or experience (i.e. OSHA, DOT, etc.).
• Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Possesses leadership, decision-making, and change management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time.
• Fluency in English is required; Spanish preferred.
• Experience in the compressed gases industry preferred (i.e. oxygen, nitrogen, argon, etc.).
• Class B CDL preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and regulatory compliance guidance to local branches.
• Implement safety programs and coaching across the organization.
• Conduct safety audits and investigations to identify risks and preventative measures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, DOT, FDA, EPA, CGA, NFPA, ISBT, and local regulations.
• Influence safety culture with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Travel to locations as needed to support sites.

The Safety & Compliance Manager provides excellent customer service and support to our local branches while driving, influencing, and achieving safety and regulatory compliance, and risk reduction. You have experience implementing safety programs, and training and coaching to all levels of the organization. You identify and mitigate risks by conducting safety audits and investigations, and you are comfortable recommending preventative measures. You exercise, current and best-in-class safe work activities and industry trends in production, distribution, warehousing, and point-of-sale activities.You maintain continual knowledge of regulatory requirements including: OSHA, DOT, FDA, EPA, CGA, NFPA, ISBT, state, and local government regulations.
