Job Summary
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR)- is responsible for preparing, processing, checking, and placing complex quotes and orders in a business-to-business environment. They work directly with longtime established customers that are managed by an Account Manager, to provide a high level of service while fulfilling customer requests.
The ISR serves as a subject matter expert on his/her assigned Account(s) and will train other ISRs on the specifics of those Accounts if deemed necessary by the Inside Sales Supervisor or Inside Sales Manager. He or she may be responsible for learning the fundamentals of additional accounts to provide backup support when coverage is needed.
The ISR is the primary resource for the Sales Team for Quality related requirements and problem resolution. They serve as a liaison and interdepartmental resource for Sales, Quality, and Operations group initiatives and problem resolution.
· Create, maintain, and follow up on complex business-to-business quotes and orders.
· Ask questions to uncover customer needs, build relationships, and find solutions.
· Call and email customers/suppliers regarding product pricing, availability, documentation needs, technical specifications, and identifying requirements. Some customers/suppliers require communication through vendor portals.
· May negotiate pricing and terms of sales agreements with customers and occasionally vendors on behalf of the organization.
· Find solutions for problems they uncover in internal and external processes.
· Ensure TEVET complies with quality standards, quality codes, and requirements listed by the customer on requests for quotations and purchase orders.
· Contributes to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and continuous improvement efforts for function and assigned Account(s). Addresses and solves customer and/or vendor issues e.g., sales-related terms and conditions, pricing, lead-time, quality requirements, and invoicing issues.
· Assist the Inside Sales Supervisor, Inside Sales Manager, Account Managers, and other Inside Sales Representatives with their duties. Provides coverage and serves as a backup for his/her Account Managers and other ISRs when needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Primarily Monday through Friday office hours scheduled, on-site at TEVET's headquarters. May need to work and be available outside of primary hours to meet customer and business needs. Very little travel will be required.
Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree, currently pursuing Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· 3+ years of direct customer service or sales experience.
· 5+ years of applicable experience/training in customer service and/or sales, and experience with government contracts, FARS/DFARS is preferred.
Abilities / Skills
· Professional verbal and written business communication skills in English.
· Business math calculation skills, including applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Ability to successfully manage tight deadlines, multiple activities, programs, and priorities simultaneously. Fundamental expectations are to complete responsibilities efficiently without sacrificing quality, time management, and prioritization of customer’s needs.
· Ability to use resources at hand to navigate grey areas of decision making.
· Knowledge of business-to-business procurement and/or contracting requirements for the direct Government and/or Prime Contractors.
· Understanding of basic accounting terminology.
· Three plus years of experience using CRMs or similar software.
· Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word in a professional setting at the intermediate level.
· Proficiency converting document to and from Adobe PDF format. Experience using chat and video-conferencing software.
· Experience using CRMs in day-to-day activities.
